So you’re ready to set the plan of new video for your business in motion! (Of course, you have found the most fabulous on camera coach to get you personally ready for your close up.. ah hem. Smile!)
Now, how do you find that videographer that will be the right fit for you? It can be hard to know where to start or who to trust. I personally help my clients vet potential video creation partners, and I can give you three major ways to narrow down your search to the perfect fit! (Do consider this search as not just a one-time thing, but as the beginning of a long and rich business partnership!)
- Be clear on what you want. I am not just referring to the end product (the clearer your vision, the better) but just how involved do you want your videographer to be? Do you need a lot of creative input, or do you want full control? Interview the person or team, and make sure you are on the same page before you start working together!
- Seek referrals and watch samples of work. Watch video samples that are similar to your business and the type of shoot you desire. If the potential video partner has no videos online available to see, take that as a sign and choose another!
- Be ready for the investment. Relax, you needn’t have a budget the size of a Hollywood Production company, but you do need to budget what you can. Choosing a video partner by the lowest price is not something I advise. This video will showcase you and the end product should be something you are proud to share.
